Yes, our doctors carry out the distance vision and field of vision tests during your appointment. There’s no need to visit an optician separately.
  • First application: At age 18+ for Group 2 licences.
  • Renewal every 5 years: Until age 45.
  • From 45 onwards: Renewal is every 5 years, and yearly from age 65.
Having a condition does not necessarily mean you cannot drive. Our doctors will record the information, and the DVLA will assess your fitness to drive. If needed, you may be asked for further medical evidence.
You will usually receive your completed D4 form at the end of the appointment, ready to send to DVLA.
